Being able to talk to your provider clearly, ask questions, and understand your treatment and medicine is all part of quality health care. That’s why with SFHP, you can get a translator for your health visits at no cost. We will talk with you in the language you want to speak, including American Sign Language.
How To Get a Translator:
- Call your provider to schedule a health visit: You can find the phone number of your primary care provider (PCP) on the back of your SFHP ID card. A PCP is the doctor, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner in charge of your health care. If you would like help finding the phone number of your PCP, please call SFHP Customer Service.
- Ask for a translator for your health visit: When you call to schedule your health visit, ask for a translator at the same time. It’s important to ask early.
- Go to your health visit: You will get a translator in person or over the phone during your health visit.
- Get quality care: Ask your PCP any questions you have about your health or share any concerns. Your translator will be with you while you talk to your provider.
