獲得所需的護理

行為和心理健康治療適合所有人群。與他人交談是獲得所需協助的第一步。

Reproductive health is a type of care that focuses on your sexual well-being. This can mean having safe sex, testing, and treating for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), family planning, and getting care before and after pregnancy.

Why reproductive health matters?

Taking care of your reproductive health helps you make healthy choices. It can help you protect yourself and your loved ones.

Different Types of Care

SFHP members can get care for sexual health, family planning, and maternal health.
Sexual Health is about having safe and healthy sex based on your choice. SFHP offers sexual health care, such as:

Breast and cervical cancer screening and treatment

Doxycycline for STI Prevention (DoxyPEP)

HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) & Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)

HIV/AIDS prevention and testing

Vaccines (HPV, Hepatitis B, etc.)

Sexual Health is also knowing your status for STIs. This helps stop the spread to others. Speak with your primary care doctor* (PCP) to learn about how to stop the spread of STIs. You can also visit cdc.gov to see what STI tests may be right for you.

*Your PCP is the doctor, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner in charge of your health care.

Family Planning can help you choose when you will or will not have a child. Covered services include:

Counseling

Pregnancy testing and support

Sterilization

Talk with your PCP or OB-GYN about different birth control methods. Find a Doctor

Maternal Health

OB-GYN care

Doula birth support

A doula is a birth worker that can help you before, during, and after pregnancy. Having doula care can help improve your birthing outcome. Learn more about Doula Services.

Extra support

Community Health Workers (CHW) share your same culture, health condition, or have been through the same experiences as you. Learn more about Community Health Worker Services.

Your Privacy

Reproductive health care is always private and at no cost to SFHP members. This means:

  • You don’t need a referral or pre-approval from a doctor.
  • The Medi-Cal doctor or health center you go to does not have to be in the SFHP network.
  • We will not share your private health data.

If you are under age 18, you can also get this care without worry. You don’t need a parent or guardian’s permission.
Minors can talk to someone in private about their health concerns. You can call the 24/7 SFHP Nurse Advice Line at 1(877) 977-3397. Or you can use Teladoc® for a phone or video visit with a doctor at 1(800) 835-2362 or online.
Learn more about your covered benefits in the SFHP Member Handbook or visit our Benefits and Covered Services page.
